Here we have some progression shots of a piece I redid just for coloring. It was done on marker paper bienfang 360 graphics to be exact.

Once I had the blue pencil in I started with the skin. I trend to start with the light tones first. In this case E00 skin white and R02 flesh on the edges to give it depth and that slightly sun kissed glow.

Now come the clothing or lack there of in this case lol. Again blending two colors R37 Carmine and R27 cadmium red. Notice how I have yet to do any off the inking as I found out that Copics being alcohol based can bleed and smear India ink. I know being pigment based you wouldn’t think so but it can trust me.

Ok now ifs the hair in this case blond. Again only two colors Y13 lemon yellow and YR23 yellow ochre. If she was going to be a dark hair color I might have gone ahead with the inking but because of the light shade I choose to hold off.

Here I did the main inking and filled inn the wings with T3 toner gray and later again in the next step I add some C5 cool gray. This proved that you don’t have to be rich to use Copics as you can stick to my two color blending and still look good. Now of you have the markers for 3 or 4 color blending that’s awesome but not a necessity.

Ok here she is all finished, I did some more pen detail work at the end such as her sleeve which I have included a close up shot below. Hopefully if I get enough requests I will do a video on two marker blending for beginners. Hope you all enjoyed.
